Sinistro – Um rap de Nikiti

The project '5 x slum, now by ourselves' gathered over 80 young people from Rio's favelas (slums), selected through workshops, script and filmmaking techniques to create a feature film consisting of five stories that reflect different facets of the daily lives of residents of these communities - with the promise of escape stereotypical representations.

Thirty years after a school photo was taken in City of God, a filmmaker and former student seeks out his old classmates from Class 101. The documentary explores life paths shaped by inequality, survival, and loss. A reunion at their old school culminates in the recreation of the original image, bridging past and present in a collective portrait of the favela.

This documentary celebrates Cadu Barcellos, a Black filmmaker from the Maré favela complex. In defiance of erasure, the film moves beyond tragedy to celebrate his light, ancestry, and legacy.
