Place Where I Belong
Wakara Scott (Yurok) works as a cultural development specialist at Two Feathers, a Native American family service that offers mental health wellness programs. For the past four years, Wakara has shared her knowledge with youth through workshops that teach traditional basket weaving, brush dancing, and language. The documentary explores the psychological impact of her youth spent in foster care, as well as the strong bond she forged with her adoptive mother. Wakara reflects on how her sustained connections to community and culture helped her to become the resilient woman she is today.
