Hyprov: Improv Under Hypnosis

The Stratford Festival’s critically acclaimed performance of King Lear. An aging monarch resolves to divide his kingdom among his three daughters, with consequences he little expects. His reason shattered in the storm of violent emotion that ensues, with his very life hanging in the balance, Lear loses everything that has defined him as a king – and thereby discovers the essence of his own humanity.

From the song he refuses to perform to his admiration for Drake, a songwriting legend reflects on his lyrics and longevity with candour and humour. At 80 years young (and currently recording another album), Gordon Lightfoot continues to entertain and enlighten. Personal archive materials and studio sessions paint an intimate picture of an artist in his element, candidly revisiting his idealistic years in Yorkville's coffeehouses, up through stadium tours and the hedonistic '70s.

Joni Mitchell, the Queen of folk/rock, performs for an intimate audience on a Warner Bros. soundstage in Los Angeles. This concert is classic Joni, covering a broad base of her repertoire from over the years. With a backdrop provided by some of her very own paintings, this program is a reveling look at both the life and talents of Joni Mitchell.

Swedish-Canadian television special hosted by Swedish artist Ted Gärdestad and Canadian artist Lisa Hartt, where they presented artists and groups from their respective countries, sang some of their own songs and performed a couple of duets.
