The Ghost at Bragehus

Swedish version of Norwegian National Author Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson's novel.

A woman wants to teach her unfaithful husband a lesson for his constant stepping out. However, she might fall into her own trap when she falls in love with an attractive pianist.

Eilert is afraid of women. His friend Lagesen is not, quite the opposite. To help his shy friend, he takes him to a mountain hotel during Easter. There they meet Ingrid, a beautiful girl with whom they both fall in love.

A Norwegian mistaken identity comedy. At Krogheby Manor, owned by the Vinkelkrogh family, four ghosts reside. Per Aabel plays Johnny Vinkelkrogh, who visits his aunt Clementine. He happens to look exactly like one of the ghosts, and confusion ensues when the two are mistaken for each other.

The architect Gösta complains to Dr. Holm about his wife Gunilla's introverted character. Holm proposes a drug that will make her more outgoing.

Den store barnedåpen (English: The great christening) is a 1931 Norwegian comedy film directed by Tancred Ibsen, starring Einar Sissener, Aase Bye and Agnete Schibsted-Hansson. It was the first feature-length Norwegian sound film. The lacklustre Harald (Sissener) is taken in by Alvilde (Bye), and charged with looking after her bastard child. It soon dawns on both of them that Harald has more potential than previously assumed.

The young fisherman Tørres wants to become rich, so he can get revenge over Krøger, who has taken his family home. He gets a job in Mrs. Knudsen's shop to establish himself, and after a short time he has the upper hand on Krøger...

Known architect Jean Blomis married with two kids, living in a modern condo, though being very outgoing, his wife isn't. After learning about scientist Holm's new hormone, he hopes to feed his wife with it to get her pepped up.

The well-known musician and composer Åke Kjellberg wakes up in a nice Stockholm apartment. He lives in Count Sparvhök's empty home until it gets rented out.

The film takes place during a time of famine. Norway has been at war with England and Sweden, and times are tough. Gjest Baardsen has gotten into trouble with the law, apparently over a trivial matter. But Gjest breaks free, and instead it is the sheriff who is locked up in handcuffs. And Gjest continues to flee, with sheriffs and good people in tow.

Based on the 1931 novel To levende og en død by Sigurd Christiansen. A post office worker is left wrestling with his conscience following a robbery at his workplace.

The wealthy farmer sits safely on his ancestral farm, and the hard-working tenant farmer lives on the hill below. The horse dealer at the coach station will trick the innocent farmer, who is not so innocent after all, with cunning tricks. The mischievous boy who bullies the servants when his mother and father are away, the kind-hearted little boy who helps his grandfather when no one else will listen to the old man, the village eccentric who never tires of recounting his youthful adventures in the city, the worn-out wife who will not send her cow to the show at any price.

Mountain climbing and its dangers get a different twist in this standard drama by Norwegian director Tancred Ibsen. When one of two climbing buddies returns from an attempt to scale Eagle Peak, he is happy to claim his award for being the first to reach the summit. But his celebration is short-lived after his friend comes back down from the mountain with another version of his "victory" climb. This second version has the supposedly successful climber cast as an attempted murderer. The story behind the climb comes out in flashbacks as the Alpine Club reviews the accusation.

The stuttering Theobald stumbles upon some ballet girls who are in town with a touring theater company and falls in love with Lill. This leads to an interest in becoming an actor, and a theater manager sees him as an unintentional comic relief on stage.

Two police officers lie dead. The swede Ekstrøm and the youngster Gustav flees the scene of the crime. Based on a real double murder in 1926, this movie remained almost unseen for 57 years. When the film was set to premiere in 1950 one of the murderers, having served a full sentence, went to court to have the film stopped.

Director Hugo Berner and Doctor Olof Mellgren have come out of the theater where they have just shown the classic play Pygmalion. Director Mellgren claims that, like Higgins in the play, he can turn a harbor worker into the gentleman.
