An old shepherd lives his last days in a quiet medieval village perched high on the hills of Calabria, at the southernmost tip of Italy. He herds goats under skies that most villagers have deserted long ago. He is sick, and believes to find his medicine in the dust he collects on the church floor, which he drinks in his water every day.

In the heart of Hiroshima, some hibakusha – survivors of the atomic bomb – share their stories in front of the camera, entrusting the present with the memory of a wound that still burns. Their faces and words intertwine with archival materials, radiant sounds, and hand-drawn animations, composing an intimate narrative that gives shape to the invisible and rekindles memories that have survived both time and oblivion.

Leonardo, an obituary author, lives an isolated and disillusioned life, which is completely turned upside down when he befriends an eccentric group of ghosts. Among them there is also the spirit of Leonardo's father, in a youthful and enthusiastic version that his son does not remember ever experiencing.

In India a young girl has been forced to marry because her horoscope said that that was the only way for her to survive. In Nigeria a young girl has been raped by Boko Haram's soldiers and one night she has tried to escape her kidnappers. In Peru a young girl has become a young mother. In Syria, because of the war, a girl has been sold to the best bidder. Their four destinies will inevitably interweave, starting from the name that they all share: Hanaa.

A boy has a dream of traveling to the world, especially to Paris where his uncle lives, but a wall built on his land divides his country and does not allow him to travel or cross to the other side of his land.
