From Me To Me

A Buddhist, fable-like story about the guilt of a childhood incident of killing an ant while washing hands in the sink. Animated through photographic sequences painted with golds and greys, the Zen-like visuals sweep into one another with whispering monologues and glitching noises reflecting the realms of power, guilt, prayers and existence.

Sad Diva Lands on the Moon follows the escapism of May, a young girl caught up in the turmoil of her country. While she stays at home, doing laundry or surfing the internet, her emotions take an imaginative run in absurd scenarios to forget the reality she leaves behind. Her journey takes her to the moon, while she tries to save a brainwashed, sad diva stuck in an old propaganda TV show.

During the transitional period from COVID-19 to the new normal, a filmmaker exchanges visual conversations with 9 other filmmakers in a day through zoom video chats. The result is a screen recordings representation of the collective consciousness and the emotional state during that period, experimented with the idea of available resources during limited times. It is a one-day visual diary of 10 individuals before entering back to the new normal world tomorrow. This film has been supported by an ARTivism grant awarded by Global Platform Myanmar, ActionAid Myanmar.

Informed by Taoist notions on the flow of nature, Freedom of Clouds is an experimental audiovisual poem composed of two visual languages which shift in tandem with the sonic landscape. The first involves abstract audio-reactive particles imitating the movement of dust, while the second is composed of Myanmar’s urban scenes which blur and morph as the piece moves away from form and definition.

An impressionistic state-of-mind piece of a decay of young woman who becomes increasingly trapped in her own vanity and seemingly forget to forge a human connection that she sought for.
