Kunju Lakshmi is the youngest daughter of the aristocratic Kavumpattu family in Peruvannapuram. She is pampered by her brothers and is a little arrogant. The family owns the local college. Sivasankaran comes to the college as a peon to replace the Padmanabhan who fails to give the promised donation to the Kavumpattu family in return for the job. In the meantime a love note that was written for Kunju by a classmate ends up in her book and she accuses Sivasankar of writing her the letter. Kunju gets into a fight with Sivasankaran. Her brothers join the fight and Sivasankaran declares that he will marry Kunju in 15 days.

Meenakshi who is confused between the word her father had given to Akhilachandran and her love.

Nandan (Jayaram) is a school bus driver who is coping with the death of his young niece and also dealing with the sorrow of his sister (Rekha). He finds solace and friendship in a little girl Geethu (Shyamili) who reminds him of his niece. Geethu is also going through a turmoil of her own because of the troubles between her parents (Muarli, Geetha).

The film is about a special friendship between a boy and girl, Aby (Kunchacko Boban) and Sona (Shalini). Aby and Sona are childhood friends but they have no romance between them. It was too late when they realized their romance.

Sachidanandan (Dileep) runs an antique shop in the Jewish street at Kochi. He is famous for old Gramophone records. Sachi hates music, as he believes that his father has not made any money out of it. Aryadevi, a famous singer, who has been given her first break by Raveendran, comes to Kochi from Bombay with her daughter Pooja (Navya Nair).
