In the curious city of Crato, near the Chapada do Araripe, a young geologist goes up the river to unravel the mysteries behind the stories told by his grandmother. Then begins a journey in search of answers from which the adventurer will not return the same.

Simon, 22, drives his father's car to the retirement home to visit his grandmother Maryse. He plays her some old cassettes he found, unaware that the music will revive memories in both Maryse's body and mind. While dancing with her, Simon witnesses his grandmother's past, as she is transported back to her youth in the Antilles.

In a house in the countryside, 17-year-old Paula persuades her mother to join her ecological experiment on her grandmother's embroidered tablecloth under the starry night sky. There, grief, divisions, and a fragile longing for connection come to the surface.
