Turn Table

On a cold black-and-white night outside a monastery, a nun- Hester- sits bleeding after being bitten by a vampire. As she slowly transforms, she instructs Mary, a frightened novice nun who rushes to her aid, to burn her body if she dies so her soul may still reach heaven. As the fire roars around them, Hester attacks and bites Mary’s arm before Mary instinctively drives the stake back into Hester, killing her again. Mary collapses in agony as the world suddenly shifts from black-and-white into color, and she awakens transformed.

A reclusive man has just moved to the suburbs when he begins to receive visits from strangers dressed in homemade chicken costumes. When he discovers the truth about his new house, he must confront both the chicken people and his own trauma.

When an up-and-coming ventriloquist’s puppet begins exploring his gender, the ventriloquist must decide whether to support his puppet’s wishes at risk of their act while learning more about his own identity along the way.

It is a story about loneliness and trying to hold on to memories. The overwhelming emotions shown in the movie come together to create a nostalgic feeling understood by all. The film mostly takes place inside a car, during a conversation between two friends,Edd & Seb. The character of Edd, played by the director Eduardo Garcia, seems to be lost within the chaos of his own mind, unexpectedly being transported to different memories. These memories represent a journey of difficult emotions, including: the struggle with abandonment, the need for family, the absence of home, and unrealized love. Seb, played by Tayo Sonuga, is the anchor that keeps Edd grounded. His dialogue lights the way when Edd is trapped in a dark place, reminding him that everything will be okay.

After an executive order renouncing the existence of trans and non-binary people, Fuck Your Policy explores the experience of existing outside the gender binary in the current political climate.
