Three starving fishermen encounter something unexpected on a remote island in the 1890's. A visual mystery story with horror elements.

The Diver

The Diver is a hymn to diving and the aesthetics of movement. It is a dreamlike collage of movement, music and narration honouring the most beautiful sport there is. Helge Wasenius (b. 1927), The Grand Old Man of divers, is the principal character in the film, a colourful daredevil of the sport.

Isänmaan toivot tells about roommates, Vellu, Antti, Henrika and Titta, describing their life, work and free-time.

The Crawl

A visual and delicately poetic story about the relationship between a swimmer and water. A young competitive swimmer meets the world's fastest woman swimmer in her dreams and races her.

Sirkka

A sensitive short film about a first kiss. It is a story about Ville, a twelwe-year-old boy, who receives a letter from Sirkka. Sirkka wants to meet and to kiss him.

Allas

A speechless story of a young boy in a skeleton costume and his father’s swimming trip to a lido. It seems like an ordinary trip until a strange woman with sunglasses joins the father at the pool.

Man Exposed

A story of a priest, who considers himself as a rebel is suddenly asked to run for bishop of Turku.

My Superhero

Country boy Oskari travels with his mother to the city. There he meets his superhero. However, all is not quite as seven-year-old Oskari imagined. He is faced with a difficult choice. Superhero is dark-skinned and doesn´t look like the action figure he owns.

Airo

A scantily clad woman is rowing a large wooden boat with her eyes closed, when a male figure suddenly appears out of nowhere standing on his hands at the bow. Together they travel down the river under the starry sky, surrounded by a mystical landscape.

Losers

The owner of a remote gas station and a small time crook cross paths on one hot summer's day.

Simo Was Here

The beloved comedian Simo Salminen began his career as a National Championship level diver in the 1950s. Entertainment was an integral part of his sporting life, and Salminen began performing clown dives in a clown costume to the delight of children. The short film Simo Was Here takes the now elderly Salminen back to the Helsinki Swimming Stadium and illustrates his memories of the good old days. This nostalgic work is dedicated to the memory of Salminen, who passed away in 2015.

A short dance film about a hard journey from the sea to the top, and back.

A meditative journey to an oasis that a bunch of people consider their second home, where they return each summer.

Soul Catcher

A film about a man who has lost his soul. Many aboriginal tribes have believed that if someone takes a photograph of them they lose their soul.

Krump

Krump observes movements of a gymnast on rings. Movements are wild as the sound of a violin - just on the edge of being out of control.
