In the dimly lit shadows of post-war 1950s, Truman, a battle-worn war journalist haunted by his past, is drawn back into the unforgiving world of journalism. A sultry cabaret singer vanishes mysteriously, leaving behind a trail of secrets.

A solitary man grows beans that become a mirror of his own confined existence. Witness and victim of his reality, he shares the fate he imposes on his plants, carrying within him the dream of being reborn from the compost to finally break this cycle.

Marie, a psychologist, agrees to evaluate the consciousness of an artificial intelligence. To communicate with it, she enters a simulation where virtual reality, memories and dreams all blur together.
