Late in the Night

Malakavva, a female auto rickshaw driver in the city of Pune, navigates her way through life in a profession dominated by men, and where her own life has been shaped for the worse by the men in her life.

A writer stays away from the city with an elderly widow. His wife had desserted him. He suffers from a writer's block. The incessant mating calls of cuckoos disturb him. On one such afternoon, an old friend Shanti, abandoning his wife's funeral has come looking for him. Is he sad?
