David is born in Portugal but lived his whole life in the US. At 24 is he accused of a crime he didn't commit and is deported to his native country.

Inspired by Bernardo Santareno's “The Lugger” and “In the Seas of the End of the World”, this is the story of a captain of a codfish lugger, fishing in the banks of the Newfoundland who decide to risk sailing to Greenland in search of more fish. Along the way, he has to face storms, crew revolt and deal with the best and the worst of humanity when tested in extreme circumstances.

But something strange slowly begins to emerge in the testimonies: from the clash between the two versions of the same couple's experience, the truth will come to light.

Luís hates Christmas. In the hospital where she is a doctor, she always offers herself to work for 24 hours in the emergency room on the 24th and 25th of December. When everything gets ready to be another bitter and solitary Christmas, a homeless is taken to the emergency room apparently with a pneumonia, despite refusing treatment. When Luís intervenes, she ends up recognising his father in the homeless man, with whom she cut relations circa 10 years ago.

Lúcia is a lawyer that works to help women whose the father of the relationship deny the paternity. A job she is very keen about since she doesn't know who her father is.
