A look at the life of French designer Yves Saint Laurent from the beginning of his career in 1958 when he met his lover and business partner, Pierre Berge.

When, at the age of eleven, Marie Caillaud entered Nohant in the service of George Sand, she did not yet know that she would be called Marie des Poules, the servant who fetched the eggs from the henhouse.
