Ngau Chai Is Coming to Town

A seemingly innocent romance between two people is destroyed by reality in Step on Grass. Under most circumstances, “she” and “he” would be together happily ever after. However, the problem is that “she” is a teacher, and “he” is her student. The nature of their relationship may be pure, but society will always see it as improper due to their identities. Soon, one step in the wrong path sends their lives further spiraling out of control, and “she” is forced to make a decision.

In a school obsessed with grades, discipline and obedience, children are measured by results, dreams are dismissed as childish, and individuality is treated as a mistake to be corrected. Amid the absurdity, two students hold on to imagination, emotion and the instinct for freedom; that untimely innocence becomes their quiet way of standing against reality.

This is a story about facing the challenges of a changing era. In a world where martial arts have lost their value due to the arrival of alien technology, martial artists become marginalized. The protagonist, Blacky, a black cat with a mechanical arm, seeks revenge for his slain master. Determined to confront enemies equipped with alien tech, Blacky uses traditional martial arts. Amidst challenges and obstacles, he strives to find his own worth and redefine the meaning of martial arts in a transforming society.
