Oo my baby

Charlie Brooker takes a comedic look back at the hectic events of the previous year.

Greg Davies is the Taskmaster, and with the help of his ever-loyal assistant Alex Horne, they will set out to test the wiles, wit, wisdom and skills of five hyper-competitive comedians. Who will be crowned the Taskmaster champion?

Presented by gadget, gizmo and toy collector extraordinaire Jonathan Ross, 100 Greatest Toys with Jonathan Ross is a three hour countdown of the nation's favourite toys and games. From Action Man to Yahtzee, Barbie to Trivial Pursuit; inventors and toy-makers tell the inside stories of their creations and success.

British Comedian Dave Gorman travels across America without supporting the 'Man'. In other words, no Holiday Inns, no Best Westerns and no Comfort Suites. No Shells, no Arcos and no BP gas stations. No MacDonalds, no Starbucks and no chains of any kind. Just Mom & Pop business all the way.

Phil Wang riffs on reheated rice, octopus intelligence and the importance of fact-checking in this special filmed at Shakespeare's Globe in London.

Alex Horne tries to discover why some games survived, and examines the best of those that did not. Whilst revisiting his own childhood haunts, he attempts to relaunch the ancient sport of the Quintain, horseless jousting, and tries his damnedest to understand the rules of the Jingling Match. Not forgetting his attempt to restage the forgotten spectacle of Cricket on Horseback. This might just be a journey to the very heart of sport itself, but if not, it will be a lot of fun playing games that have not been seen for hundreds of years and even more fun discovering why.

The phone rings, someone is arriving…

Pam has no idea why she has woken up in a hotel room with just an odd newspaper cutting in her bag, and an escort from 'Paradise Males' at the door, waiting to party with a six-pack of Tango in his hands. As the pieces of her shattered memory slot back into place, Pam realises she has a deadly decision to make. Starring Diane Morgan as Pam ('Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe', 'Two Episodes of Mash') and Michael Spicer (who also wrote the screenplay) as Paul the rubbish escort, Paradise Males is a blackly comic thriller with an unexpected twist. It's not so much a whodunit, as a 'what-the-hell-is-going-on-here-then'.

Britain's Best Sitcom was a poll conducted in 2004 by the BBC, to identify the United Kingdom's best sitcom. Viewers were asked to vote for their favourite by phone, text message and on the web. The top ten went forward to a final round of voting. Ten, one hour long programmes were made before the final round, each about one of the Top 10, the programmes consisting of a celebrity speaking on behalf of their chosen sitcom as well as interviews with the stars and people that made it. Each of these programmes consisted of the celebrity advocating the sitcom giving a list of reasons as to why viewers should vote for the sitcom being advocated, as well as featuring plugs from other famous fans of each sitcom. Jonathan Ross hosted the countdown show.
