'Pop-Up' is a triptych drama about three strangers affected by one random event. It was filmed in Newcastle, Australia, and Transylvania, Romania.

In 1994, Caroline Leaf accepted the Sir Allen Sewell Fellowship to give a series of studio workshops and lectures to animation students at the Queensland College of Art, Griffith University in Brisbane. In this film she talks about her work and demonstrates such techniques as sand animation, paint and cut-out animation and scratch animation.

As novelist Jovana Fey attempts to check into the first hotel of her 3-week European book tour, she learns that her publisher has gone bankrupt. Penniless and stranded, she decides to continue the tour regardless.

An ex-army pilot boards a plane for the first time since a devastating incident.

When a cleaning lady notices a surfer being awarded a medal for heroism, she recognises him as the man who assaulted her. Upon being consoled by a courier, the new acquaintances confront the surfer in the car park, only to to have his pregnant fiancée dismiss their story.
