In "Stealing the land", parents fight not only for a better future for their children, but also for their own egos. Marija, Boko, Irena and other neighbours have a picnic in front of their apartment building. Suddenly a jet-fighter flies overhead. Later Peter, who flew this plane and is the son of Irena and Boko, formerly an officer in the Yugoslav Peoples Army, also arrives. Four years later the war for Slovenia breaks out and Yugoslavia is falling apart. Marjan and Bokos families, which used to be on friendly terms, are now inimical. Marjan wants to shoot the soldiers of the Yugoslav Army with an air gun, and Boko does not know what to do. Things get worse, Peter calls from the airport and an air-raid alarm forces them to seek refuge in a bomb shelter. But Marjan does not want Irena and Boko there, as they are supposed to be enemies of Serbia. Someone burns the Yugoslav flag and everyone has to run outside, while jet fighters are already flying over the apartment buildings.

It is 1976 in Yugoslavia. Brotherhood and unity is also evident on the local radio station, where everyone is rejoicing. Namely, they received the award for the most homogeneous collective. The most homogeneous collective, however, soon begins to disintegrate, as it turns out that the award is in fact intended for the best individual.

The story is set in the 112 information center, the main protagonists are two sisters, Aleša and Mia. The elderly Aleša performs a very stressful and at the same time poorly paid job in the 112 information center. Her already tense everyday life becomes even more complicated when, after many years of studying abroad, her younger sister Mia returns, without money, a job or friends, and, of course, takes refuge on the couch with her older sister. While Aleša struggles with burnout, Mia tries to find her place in this world. While saving the hardships and lives of others, will the sisters also be able to save their own?

Brothers joint apartment will become too small for both of them and all their loves and whose experiences they drew material for the series.
