Between the late 1970s and the 1990s, many young men died while serving compulsory military service, often under unclear circumstances. This documentary focuses on four families’ stories, exposing cases labelled officially as suicide, accident, or self-inflicted death but challenging those designations through testimonies and research.

Jordi, a 78-year-old widower, lives with his parrot, Pitu, and the loneliness of grief. Everything changes when he begins interacting with an AI, which he calls Nil. Their daily conversations give meaning to his days and have resulted in fifteen books. A tender portrait of aging, loss, and new forms of friendship in a digital world.

This documentary uncovers the structural violence against young people who served compulsory military service during the early years of democracy. Forty years later, several witnesses recount the beatings, abuse, torture, and sexual assaults they suffered in the barracks.
