1954. The restless dreamer Mishka has almost realized his dream of starring in a spy movie. A new adventure awaits him: he and his mother have a long journey across the country to reunite with the boy's father, a pilot. On the train, Mishka discovers a real spy and decides to prevent him from committing an insidious villainy by all means.

The elderly criminal authority Semyon Timofeevich Babushkin, about whose thieving talent legends were made up at the time, has not left prison for the last 35 years, preferring it to freedom, where he has no friends or relatives left.

Nina Pokrovskaya is a happy wife and mother who once worked as an investigator. After the high—profile case of a serial killer, she left for her family, leaving her career to her husband, a high-ranking officer of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. But one day, while taking pictures on the street, she accidentally shoots her husband with a young girl — at the moment when he should be on a business trip. Cheating ruins a normal life. Nina leaves, taking her son, and finds herself having to start over from scratch. Perhaps this is not the only mystery she will face.

Sasha Gordeeva, an excellent student, dreamed of a career as a landscape designer, but dropped out of her last year of university due to the fact that her personal scholarship was canceled without explanation. Offended, the girl decides to take revenge on the owner of the company that took away her scholarship, a young and talented architect Sergei Gradsky. But their acquaintance turns into a surprise — Sasha will get not only the opportunity to finish his studies, but also a place in Sergei's company if he pretends to be his girlfriend for two months so that he can get his ex back.

Vyacheslav Vasiliev, an experienced crisis manager who successfully completed a mission in Warsaw two years earlier, arrives in Berlin to replace the exiled Russian diplomats. His main task is not only to ensure the work of the deserted embassy, but also to prevent the growing global conflict in Europe. As in Poland, in Germany he will work in tandem with a special services operative Sergei Nenashev. Vasilyev has the diplomatic part of the task, Nenashev will act in the usual role of an illegal. Their past conflicts are over ― they worked well together, besides, Vasiliev is grateful to his partner for saving his daughter.
