Writing Doom

The story of a woman, Fiona, who has been struggling to get pregnant. Because she has become obsessed with wanting a baby, she now suffers from insomnia and her grip on reality begins to elude her. After exploring her plant-filled garden one moonlit night, she receives a supernatural visitation in a dream. In the weeks and months that follow, she begins to experience symptoms of pregnancy, although the medical establishment believes her to be delusional. As it turns out, however, there is something growing inside her - but not what one might expect.

In early-2000s China, a twelve-year-old girl joins a summer swimming class determined to reach the deep end — but she just can't let go of her float. Through an unexpected bond with a fearless classmate, she learns to overcome her fear of water — and finds herself in the deep end.

A short documentary offering a rare glimpse into LGBTQIA+ life outside of the big city and what it means to belong. It follows four individual stories in East Anglia and deals with themes such as the loss of queer spaces, how life has changed in the last thirty years and what queer community means.
