Office worker Kako Hoshino develops the ability to time travel whenever she is surprised. She would travel back in time for several minutes with the person who surprised her. Therefore, she tried to avoid contact with other people as much as possible. A chance of love was about to come her way, but she's surprised by the clumsy Chizuru, and time unintentionally rewinds, ruining the chance. Despite this, Kako and Chizuru, who were not particularly close at first, gradually grow closer. She begins to be pursued by people who want to take advantage of her ability, and is warned that her time travels could potentially cause the world to collapse. Troubled, Kako teams up with Chizuru to try and cure her troublesome condition.

In the winter of her second year of high school, Fuko was asked by her art club classmate Alan to pose for him. She did so in the classroom early one morning, but for some apparent reason she experienced a climax and fainted. The homeroom teacher who happened upon the scene misread the situation which resulted in Alan’s expulsion, thus estranging the two. Aki, 18, is visiting Tokyo for three days. Among her uncle's things are a tangled spool of 8 mm film, a photo of an unknown woman and an envelope with an address. Aki ends up meeting his uncle's old friend Saguru and watching old films they shot together 20 years ago. While she's spending time in Tokyo with her friend Yumi, Aki is haunted by film-like dreams and visions related to the uncle she never knew.
