Political drama follows the alleged events leading up to the wedding of Willem-Alexander and Máxima, in which Max van der Stoel must force father Zorreguieta not to attend the wedding.

Baantjer is a Dutch television programme which was broadcast by RTL 4 from 6 October 1995 until 1 December 2006 for a total of 123 episodes in 12 seasons. It stars Piet Römer as Jurriaan 'Jurre' de Cock, a police detective, and Victor Reinier as Dick Vledder, his helper. The series is based on the novels of writer A. C. Baantjer. In 1999, RTL 4 broadcast the television film Baantjer, de film: De Cock en de wraak zonder einde because of the tenth anniversary of the network.

Dutch filmmakers gathered to make this compilation movie, consisting of 17 segments, as a reaction to the status quo in The Netherlands after the assassination of filmmaker Theo van Gogh on november 2, 2004.

One hour before the State Opening of Parliament, something very unusual happens. The Prime Minister appears and demands an adjustment to the Queen's speech. The speech concerns aid to Africa. Even with all the pressure around the State Opening, Beatrix goes back in time, and remembers her banishment to Canada, the visit to the victims of the Flood disaster and the turbulence suffered by her parents at Palace Soestdijk during the Hofman case.

The investigation into Mabel's background is in full swing, including her friendships with men such as the criminal Klaas Bruinsma and Mohammed Sacirbey, a Bosnian politician imprisoned in the US on suspicion of gambling away development funds. During this period, Prime Minister Balkenende has four conversations with Friso and Mabel, and the pressure on the couple to tell the truth grows ever greater. Until finally, they themselves no longer know what the truth is and find themselves falling from one uncertainty into another.
