Lise

Three characters in search of poetic and liberating breaches in a gradually authoritarian Paris, on the verge of implosion. Each in their own way, crafts a situation, where, alternately, a sense of lightness can be found, suffocated screams can uprise and reality be distorted into new horizons.

A woman's waiting for a man who will never return, another one boxing proudly the vacuum, a singer without orchestra, a conductor lonely. Lonely characters united by a fable, a naked young man lost in the woods, chasing or fleeing something.

A remote village. A gang of kids. There's Hannah, Thomas, and Jonathan. And then there's Lou, who's so angry that he burns everything he touches. Nature comes alive, to the rhythm of their beating hearts.

Two men meet around a camera: the old man recounts a lost love to the young director. To remember this love, the old man reads his texts, one of which alludes to a place that holds special memories: Ostend. The director then summons a third man and in turn creates the pictures of a lost love, in a shift towards fiction.

It's a film in several chapters, like several breaths coming throught distant times. Close and secret figures speak or retain their words. Disjointed spaces try to be linked by one emotion, the strength of the living and the absent. The emotion that allows us to dream of a past full of future and a future strengthened by the past.
