An executive of the yakuza osako clan leaves the underworld to raise his only son, but a war between the "Kaiyama" clan brings him back.

Asano is on the verge of being removed as president of Toyo Shipping due to poor performance. At the shareholders’ meeting, he successfully wins them over and keeps his position. With the company’s recovery underway, he finally receives approval for the long-desired land-reclamation project off the Tsurumi River.

This documentary-style drama follows the young people of today as they follow in the footsteps of Yamaguchi Sennosuke, the founder of the long-established Fujiya Hotel in Hakone. It is based on the book of the same name by Kanagawa Prefecture Governor Matsuzawa Shigefumi.

Takamine is a biopic about Dr. Jokichi Takamine, the late biochemist known for successfully crystallizing and isolating adrenaline, which is also called epinephrine. Dubbed the father of modern biotechnology, Takamine also produced Takadiastase, a digestive enzyme still used as an ingredient in medicines. He was also enthusiastic about establishing friendly relations between Japan and the United States. He was responsible for a gift of 3,000 cherry trees in the U.S. capital, Washington D.C.

Sakuraba clan member Yuto, Chikyokai member Ryosuke and their childhood friend Aoi, a nursemaid, get caught up in the ambitions of a Kansai-based organisation that plans to conquer the Kanto region.
