My Beautiful Mom

Daisy, the daughter of Hellmann, a millionaire toy inventor, is a reporter for Damenwelt, a women’s magazine. In a series of reports, she sets out to prove what men are really like. Above all, Daisy’s aunt is thrilled by her niece’s journalistic zeal, while her father reacts with less enthusiasm, especially since Daisy’s methods keep drawing warnings from the police for causing a public nuisance.

Based on Graham Greene's novel Stamboul Train, the movie focuses on the lives of individuals aboard the Orient Express as it makes a three-day journey from Ostend to Constantinople.

Maria Kelemen is a secretary in the office of a bank in Budapest. Her boss, director Borden, courts her, albeit she is engaged to Paul (about which she has remained silent). On the day of the wedding, Paul becomes unemployed and takes on the role of a house-husband. During a visit at Borden’s, Maria introduces Paul as her brother, which incites raging jealousy in the latter.

Several young music enthusiasts find a helpful supporter of their passion—singing and making music—in the endearing, friendly elderly gentleman Mr. Herzlieb, who works as a night watchman at a pawnshop specializing in musical instruments. Using a shortwave transmitter, they are even able to broadcast their pop songs all the way to Brazil, after which the music lovers are offered a gig. Prince Klemens von Metternich orders Friedrich Gentz, one of his aides, to keep the Duke of Reichstadt---Napoleon Francois Joseph Charles---son of Napoleon and heir to the French throne, from thinking about French politics. Gentz enlists the help of ballerina Fanny Elsser, all the rage in several European capitals, to keep the Duke distracted.

An Austrian prince hatches a plan to keep his rival, the Russian czar, busy by keeping him surrounded by beautiful women and away from the negotiating table. The Czar, however, has his own plan—he hires a man who is his exact double to impersonate him and confuse the Austrians by appearing to be everywhere at once. In addition, both the Czar and his double fall for the same woman.

Peter Korff isn't a famous actor yet, but he is young, handsome, adventurous – and once again hopelessly in love. The object of his affection is named Erika and works as a model at the fashion salon "Yvette." Although the pretty young woman claims to be just as in love with Peter as he is with her, she's always up for a little fling behind his back.

Determined Gerda Weber travels to the big city and locates at a girl's pension. She soon finds job as a secretary in a big business thanks to her optimism and wits, and ends dating her boss after mistaking him for a companion. They share an evening of music and dancing, after which she discovers who he really is.

After completing work on the British musical Invitation to the Waltz, Lillian Harvey returned to her adopted country of Germany to star in the comedy-with-music Glueckskinder (Children of Fortune). Harvey plays Ann Garden, an unemployed actress who ends up in night court on a loitering charge. Here she meets Gil Taylor (Willy Fritsch), a struggling songwriter temporarily employed as a court reporter. Hoping to keep her out of jail, Gil impulsively tells the judge that he's engaged to Ann -- whereupon the judge, equally impulsively, marries the couple on the spot! After this inauspicious start, Ann and Gil embark upon a rocky (but tuneful) whirlwind romance.

William MacPhab loses seven-pounds in the stock market and decides to slap the man who was responsible for the stock manipulation that caused him to lose his money. Astor Terbanks, the stock-market manipulator is surprised the next day when he gets soundly slapped by MacPhab, and the latter promises to deliver one more a day for the next six days. Terbank's daughter, Daisy, is amused by the procedure and is attracted to MacPhab.

The captain of a battleship of a small Balkan country is fed up with following strange orders from the country's queen.

An Austrian earl learns that he has inherited land in Arizona, in the American wild west. The count and his friend journey to America to claim the inheritance. There, they encounter danger, desperados, and the none-too-friendly daughter of the local sheriff.
