This news is welcomed in the village, however, the construction of the road begins to bring out violent conflicts, reveals forbidden romances and ends up regressing the community even further into the darkness from which it wanted to escape.

When all their wishes are fulfilled, they find out that they did not achieve happiness.

A communist intelectual from Zagreb is summoned to act as a comissar for a small squadron of soldiers, left to fend on their own against the rapidly advancing enemy forces.
