Short Deeds were a challenge for a generation of filmmakers. The project had its rules which had to be followed by the screenwriters, directors and their six teams: three pages of script, action in a pulled-over car with no more than three actors, shot in one day, a twist in the plot, and to be featured in each story – a parting.

A well-established writer fights his family demons while the dreamers on top of the hill struggle with their health and hope for good fortune. A successful businesswoman has plenty of the latter; still, when her daughter’s singing career takes off, she starts questioning her own professional choices. A nagging doubt is also tormenting an underwater construction worker, who wants to show his son a mysterious dark lake. This visually striking film is a subtle narrative, a love story between people and a fading city.

What if the only language you've ever known is threatened to be extinct? Three deaf protagonists belonging to three different generations are fighting to keep the sign language, the only language in which they profess love and friendship, hardship and grief, alive.

The documentary film 62.a shows the development path of Slovenian sign language in the school system. The education of deaf children has left lifelong consequences due to ossified teaching and violation of basic rights to use sign language. Shocking personal confessions reveal how the ban on the use of the mother tongue in education had a fatal impact on the deaf linguistic minority. As a result of the linguistic genocide, which lasted for an entire century, all conditions were established for the final extinction of the Slovenian sign language. The deaf community, with the help of its representative disability organization and societies, united in efforts to prevent this from happening.
