Bab Sharq

An ill-fated flight ends in the Western Desert where it crash-fives into quicksand as the passengers try to control their temper. The movie provides archetypes as they start reflecting on their lives in crisis, some of them being hopeless, and some of them being hopeless romantics.

After getting sentenced with one month in prison for contempt of court, the lawyer Sbankh tries to take advantage of his jail time to establish many relations, most notably with drug dealer Hassouna,and Salim Abu Zaid, one of the centers of power in the 60s.

Sami Al-Gohary works with an international drug-dealing gang that operates in Egypt. When he gets arrested, the gang manages to break him out, and the police tirelessly try to re-catch him.

Abu Khatwa is a physical education teacher. He loves solving TV puzzles and crossword puzzles. One day, he wins an apartment in Cairo and is subjected to a scam by a group of professionals. He decides to recover his stolen money at any cost.

Nadia loves acting and looks forward to working in cinema. She meets Mona, the secretary of the producer Mamdouh, who introduces her to him. Mamdouh makes her believe that the film's heroine has had a disagreement with him, and because she looks exactly like her, he asks her to complete the film. Nadia discovers the matter, as the actress Laila, Mamdouh's wife, who looks exactly like her, was killed by her brother Saeed in order to obtain the inheritance. Because she was threatening him with a forged power of attorney, Mamdouh exploits Nadia to make Saeed believe that Laila is still alive so that he can take revenge on him. Sami, Nadia's fiancé, becomes worried about her absence, so he informs the police. Saeed arrives and tries to kill Nadia, but things take a turn for the worse.

Safaa works in Samir's company despite her husband Saber's objection. Samir asks her to travel to Jordan on a business trip, but Saber refuses and threatens to divorce her if she travels. However, she chooses to travel, as she is looking forward to getting rich. Samir's true nature becomes clear to her: he is a drug smuggler who exploits her in smuggling operations and tries to push her into a frivolous life.
