Port of the Souls

In a dystopian future, Joana and Valenza take a journey adrift through a northeastern city. Through electronic music and a noisy track, the characters walking the streets perform what they feel while living in this society trying to understand it. Abjetas 288 deals with territorialities, identities and meritocracy, all with an ironic tone and using allegorical elements that dialogue with the popular history of Aracaju.

Daniela's voice must be fully rested before she's able to use it again. Given the adults' inability to handle the situation, her classmates see the perfect opportunity to silence her for good.

Nadia is a Haitian biologist living in Cuba, researching local wildlife. Until she receives a visit from deep waters, and the Cuban forest begins to speak in other languages. On that day, Haiti never seemed so far from Nadia.

Fidel, the only gravedigger in a small Cuban village, has made the cemetery into his home. He, a simple mortal, has the mission of burying all the dead of his village.

Javi shows up for the last time at a queer club where he works as a dancer, but he must deal with Castillo, a regular customer who resists the fact that he will never see him again.

At a Cuban high school, a group of girls who call themselves “Las Perdularias” find ways to deal with the absences on an island that is becoming increasingly empty.

Renata is a young peasant girl from Brazil at the end of the 19th century. She lives with Salomon, the evangelical pastor of the village, and two pregnant women. Salomon performs an exorcism in which he ends up killing a Guaraní man who supposedly invaded his lands. After the event, Renata wbegins to receive different demonic signs that put her faith and her surroundings to the test.
