Freely inspired by the work Catatau, by Paulo Leminski, the plot begins with the historical hypothesis imagined by the poet from Curitiba: “What if René Descartes had come to Brazil with Maurício de Nassau?” The film materializes this hypothesis and joins the father of modern philosophy in his journey through the tropics. Under the effect of hallucinatory herbs, he investigates questions revolving around geometry and optics in the face of an absolutely strange world. Known for his famous sentence “I think, therefore I am”, Descartes faces his doubt towards phenomena reason doesn’t explain. René, Renatus, Re born.

With script and direction by Pablo Villaça and starring the comedian Geraldo Magela, Morte Cega has as main character a failed filmmaker named Francis (Maurício Canguçu, producer and one of the main actors of the theatrical success "Believe, a Spirit Downloaded Me"). One night, Francis has a frightening dream about Magela, known throughout the country for playing the character O Ceguinho. Determined to make a short film based on this dream, Francis uses his producer friend, Martinho (Carlos Magno Ribeiro, who acted in Villaça's first short, A_ética), to get to the comedian. From then on, the meeting brings unexpected results for everyone involved.

A road movie by rail through four Brazilian states, 55 cities and 8.000 km of railways. A documentary, eight directors and six episodes taking place in natural landscapes and urban settings that proposes an anthropological voyage through cities and the lives of the communities alongside the tracks. The trains as conductors of history and the tracks like a way through time.
