An immigrant in Germany works hard to support his father and sister, who live in Greece. When he is forced to return home, he discovers that he has no money because the bank where he kept his savings has gone bankrupt. There, he discovers the embezzlements and when he tells everything to the General, his wife and her brother try to prove that he is crazy, a crook, a communist and anti-systemic, things that usually make the General furious. The honest man is imprisoned but in the end Lia decides to come forth with the truth.

Theoni finds a strange way to gain some money, in order to pay her bills , by renting rooms in her rickety house.
