Wildlife Filmmakers: Mishaps and Dangers

Once upon a time, there was a pedunculate oak (Quercus robur), born in 1810, 210 years old and a pillar in its kingdom. This spectacular adventure features an extraordinary cast: squirrels, barnacles, jays, ants, field mice... This vibrant, whirring, marvelous little world seals its destiny around the majestic tree that welcomes them, feeds them and protects them from its roots to its crown. With his tribe's move to follow the migrating bison, Yakari, the little Sioux boy, sets out on his own to follow the trail of Little Thunder, a wild mustang said to be untameable. Travelling far from home and deep into the territory of the terrible cougarskins, Yakari and Little Thunder undertake a great adventure and find their way back home.

In search of an organic cinema, an intimate relation is created: a body which moves and mutates within the skin of the film. Through the textural exploration of photography, the film—the vital organ of cinema—becomes a sensitive frontier between the interior and exterior of a body in the process of development.
