Return to the Nest tells the story of a young woman who, following the death of her mother, sets out to find her father, whom she has never met. In 1985, during the Iran-Iraq War, a large-scale operation is carried out to bring 215 passengers from Iran to Turkey. Among these passengers, whose lives have been saved, is a young Japanese girl named Keiko. Keiko falls deeply in love with Zafer, a lieutenant in the special forces stationed at the Turkish Embassy in Iran. However, the war forces them apart. Zafer manages to get her onto the plane heading to Turkey to save her life. But there is one crucial thing he does not know: Keiko is pregnant. After arriving in Turkey, Keiko gives birth to her daughter Yumi.

Ayaz and Melis are a couple who want to get married. However, Melis's father sets a condition: "Your older sister must get married first." Disturbed by this, Ayaz devises a plan. He makes a deal with his rogue and con artist friend, Emir. According to the agreement, Ayaz will pay off all of Emir's debts. Hasan, who lives in a town in Anatolia, and his cousin Yusuf fall in love with a woman named Elif. Elif also falls in love with one of the two men, but she does not reveal to anyone which one it is. Just then, all men capable of bearing arms are called to the Çanakkale Front. Before leaving for the front, Yusuf decides to confess his feelings to Elif, telling her that Hasan loves someone else, and secretly takes the thyme-scented handkerchief Elif made for Hasan. Yusuf, Hasan, and the other volunteers set off for the front and encounter Karagöz Puppeteer Rüstem Çavuş, who is on an expedition with Istanbul-born Eftal. During this time, some of the volunteers are killed in an attack at Anzac, while Hasan, Yusuf, Çopur, Rüstem Çavuş, and Istanbul-born Eftal are taken to a prisoner-of-war camp.

İsmet, a wealthy and kind-hearted man from the village, is thinking of getting married when the time comes, but he is very indecisive about choosing a wife. He wants to marry someone who loves and admires him, not for his wealth. So he sets out to find a pure and innocent girl from a good family. However, various surprises await him.
