After dying unexpectedly, Joel awakens in limbo, an intermediate space where he must choose whether to reincarnate as a human or as an animal.

Leo, a 26-year-old Dominican screenwriter, is in a session with his psychiatrist. Just as the psychiatrist is about to give Leo the answer he's been seeking, Leo's hysterical mother interrupts the session. Now, Leo, in a state of confusion, will search for answers to the obstacles holding him back.

A humorous, contemporary, and somewhat Caribbean adaptation of "A Christmas Carol," it tells the story of three ghosts, including the titular "Carol de Navidad", who harass Scrooge until he agrees to fairer working conditions for his company's employees.
