While shooting an advertising film in Spain, Jean, the director, meets Ines, a passionate Spanish woman who becomes his companion and lover. On the same night of his arrival in San Sebastian, the director is visited by a woman who, recommending herself to him, ends up in his arms.

Alfredo Moreno is a police officer in Paris. Married but separated from his wife, he meets Virginie, a pretty, rather interested blonde. But the Spanish police call him to come and recognize a body they think is that of his wife.

A drama teacher casts a woman in a play about torture, and the two eventually become lovers. As production of the play develops, the director begins to receive threatening letters.

When she takes up her new post at an eerie convalescent home deep in the French countryside, nurse Martine soon discovers that several missing co-workers may have fallen prey to an unspeakable evil rumored to roam the hallways at night. But as Martine looks deeper into the mystery, she suspects the home's aged residents know more about the menace than they let on.

On her part, Martine winds up responding to the advances of her office manager who has been trying to pick her up for months. She follows him to his apartment but the alleged Don Juan is nothing but a boor who prefers to watch a soccer match rather than to make love to her. In frustration, she leaves him sprawled before his set while she returns to Pascal. They realize their extramarital experiences have reinforced their couple and can now live happily ever after.

An older adolescent girl has a number of sexual adventures in France, then moves on to Montreal and New York, there finding erotic pleasure, love and danger. Flashbacks place our heroine at approximately eight years of age and perhaps suggest that her promiscuous nature has been inspired by her father's incestuous advances towards her.
