The Boys From Lilac Street

A young and inexperienced school teacher believes that she cannot find the right approach to the children and, frustrated by their behavior, decides to leave school. But homework assignments, in which the children describe their adventures and impressions, completely change her mood.

The action takes place in America, where an unemployed man named Tony, who has come to seek his fortune, steals a large sum of money and meets a young woman at a dance hall. They decide to return the stolen money, only to find the owner murdered. Tony is accused of the murder and imprisoned.

Chiora, a risk-taker, tries to blame a driver for an accident to earn money but accidentally crashes and dies in the hospital. Mari grows bored and, returning to Tbilisi by train with Nika, leaves him in the carriage. In Tbilisi, she meets Mari again, but Mari no longer wants to talk to her.

The director of the boarding house, bureaucrat Alexander, learns that among the vacationers there is a film director who is studying the life of the boarding house for his upcoming film. Alexander considers one of the vacationers to be the director for some reason and will set a cruel regime in the boarding house to please him.
