The Sjölund family on Lillholmen in the archipelago of Stockholm is quite religious and is considered suitable for dealing with odd specimens of wild youth placed there by one of Stockholm's youth associations for young girls.

The opera singer Carlo Martin comes to the Royal Opera for a guest performance and the girls in the ballet immediately gets a crush on him. Martin courts one of them, Märta Holm, who is torn between Martin and her own fiancée Arne.

The Österman brothers have come to realize that they need a housekeeper. Oldest brother Kalle travel to town and return with the young and modern Anna.

Björn Kraft is an office clerk and one day his boss installs a new accounting machine that can do three mans job. A couple of days later Björn gets the termination letter.

The farmer Per Jonsson doesn't think too well about the factory in the neighborhood, since he thinks that it destroys the fishing and makes the young people leave the countryside. When the workers at the factory go on strike, they ask him to sell milk to them and let them work in his forest. But Jonsson is stubborn and refuses to give them any help at all. At least until he is in an accident and also need help.

Meanwhile Karin gets pregnant and has a child. Eventually Daniel comes back and when he meets Karin his memory returns.

John and Ulla are happily married and live in the villa Fridhem. Via telegram, John gets the news that his dreaded mother-in-law will come to visit.

Jonas goes with a tremendous speed with his horse over a country road in Hälsingland. Because of this speed Birgit Ljusnar, who is along the road picking blueberries, falls. Jonas stops and helps her up. He gives Birgit two Swedish crowns for the pain and the suffering. Furthermore, he promises her a job on the farm.
