Scene of the Crime

Tatort is a long-running German/Austrian/Swiss crime television series set in various parts of these countries. The show is broadcast on the channels of ARD in Germany, ORF in Austria and SF1 in Switzerland.

Police

Berlin, post-Corona. Anton is getting his life off the ground: apprenticeship, his own place with his girlfriend, no drugs, nothing dodgy. But then Anton gets a “yellow letter” in which he’s accused of a serious breach of the peace and resisting arrest. It all happened two years ago and the images come flooding back: the 1st May demo, his arrest. Anton has to get reinvolved in the life he was hoping to put behind him. The naive, good-natured boy feels burning hatred when he realizes he’s not the culprit, but the victim.

My Mother

Anam, age 40, is a traditional Turkish wife and mother who lives with her family in a German city. She works as a cleaner and has made two friends: man-crazy German Rita and superstitious African Didi. When she finds out that her 20-year-old son Deniz has drifted into the drug scene and her husband Mehmet is having an affair with a colleague, her whole world collapses around her. Although desperate she is determined to fight and goes looking for Deniz. Instead she finds his girlfriend Mandy, who is also a drug addict. She decides to take care of the girl who is a stranger to her and finds herself confronted with an entirely unknown world. When she finally manages to track Deniz down to the cold-blooded dealer Hassain, he rejects her. Anam is forced to realize that painful as it is she can only help Deniz if he is prepared to accept her help

A Spicy Kraut

Hatice has a problem: she desperately needs a man. Because her younger sister Fatma is pregnant and must marry immediately. However, that is only allowed when Hatice is under the hood, as the old Anatolian tradition, to which the father Ismail firmly clings. But where should Hatice find a groom so fast? Because a Turk may not be under any circumstances, which may blaze in the German man already a bit Turkish fire. And so Hatice goes in search of her "Hans with hot sauce".

Harter Brocken: Das Überlebenstraining

The Harz village policeman Frank Koops cares little about adventures and even less about birthdays. So he only reluctantly goes on a survival weekend with Heiner, which his colleague Mette gave him for his birthday. When they set off, organizer Nora has no idea that fun is going to be serious this time.

Offside

Hayat, a soccer fanatic from Hamburg, has breast cancer. After the operation, the 20-year-old feels disfigured and is no longer allowed to play football because of her medication. But a life without soccer? Unimaginable! For Hayat, the motto now is: after the game is before the game. The motley group of girls from FC Schanze, who neither have a jersey nor can dribble, take Hayat in. Her lousy coach Toni, who sees his main task as certifying that his girls are free of talent, also takes a liking to her. The way the roughneck courts her, first out of vanity and then out of genuine affection, and discovers his sensitivity in the process, is one of the film's great moments.

Der Hodscha und die Piepenkötter

Ursel Piepenkötter Mayor of Lautringen is about to be re-elected. But the town's Turkish community wants to finally build its new mosque and she wants to prevent this. Does the construction of the mosque inevitably threaten the Islamization of the West? Quite a few citizens seem to think so. It's high time to counter the current events surrounding politics, tolerance and faith with a lively, politically incorrect comedy that gives the extremists on both sides a very entertaining dressing down.

The youths compete with one another to be the one Teresa and Fearless decide to adopt.

Van Gogh

After leaving the asylum, Vincent van Gogh settles in the home of Doctor Gachet, where he keeps painting amidst the torments of his failing mental health. He begins an affair with his host’s daughter, however, she soon realizes that he doesn’t love her and that his heart beats only for art.

The Trap

Mladen and Marija are an ordinary and happy married couple of the "middle class" of the society in which they live as tenants. Mladen works as a civil engineer in a state company, and Marija is an English teacher in primary school. The couple finds joy in their only son, Nemanja. They discover that Nemanja has a rare heart disease and healing is possible with an operation in a foreign medical center, which costs €26,000.

Ikiru

Kanji Watanabe is a middle-aged man who has worked in the same monotonous bureaucratic position for decades. Learning he has cancer, he starts to look for the meaning of his life.

Shoot 'Em Up

A man named Mr. Smith delivers a woman's baby during a shootout, and is then called upon to protect the newborn from the army of gunmen.

The Executioner

An undertaker gets married to an old executioner's daughter and, although he doesn't like it, must continue the profession of his father-in-law after his retirement.

My Best Friend

Catherine refuses to believe that her business partner, the unlikeable François, has a best friend, so she challenges him to set up an introduction. Scrambling to find someone willing to pose as his best pal, François enlists the services of a charming taxi driver to play the part.

Jindabyne

Outside the Australian town of Jindabyne, local man Stuart Kane is on a fishing trip with friends when they discover the body of a murdered girl.

Cassandra's Dream

The tale of two brothers with serious financial woes. When a third party proposes they turn to crime, things go bad and the two become enemies.

Revolver

An Italian prison official's wife is kidnapped, and the kidnappers demand that a notorious prisoner be released in order for the man to get his wife back. He gets the man released - but then kidnaps him himself, in order to ensure that the man's colleagues don't kill his wife. Enraged, the gang sets out to free their compatriot and kill the man who took him.
