The Residents - A Documentary

An independent documentary about the world's most mysterious band, The Residents. The film covers stories, concerts, interviews, and rare clips that trace the trajectory of the American group over more than half a century. Awarded by the band itself, this production is the first and only one in Portuguese that dared to delve deep into the cryptic archives of the world's most anonymous group.

David McCallum hosts documentary dramatizing the lives and predictions of past and contemporary (for 1994) psychics, clairvoyants, and similar people who predicted the future.

Oingo Boingo: Skeletons in the Closet

A music video compilation was also released by A&M Records alongside the album. It contained (in order) music videos for "Stay" and "Just Another Day" from Dead Man's Party, "Gratitude" from So-Lo, "Little Girls" from Only a Lad, "Nothing Bad Ever Happens" from Good for Your Soul, and "Private Life" from Nothing to Fear.

Secrets of the Unknown: Tornadoes & UFOs

Secrets of the Unknown daringly showcases the bizarre, the terrifying, and the unmistakably real. First, explore the scientific cause behind the unnatural disasters of twisters with testimony from survivors and "storm chasers." Then, speak with people who believe they've spotted UFOs - as well as those who claim to have been abducted by aliens and subjected to painful tests, before being safely returned to their homes.

Ears, Eyes and Throats: Restored Classic and Lost Punk Films 1976-1981

This collection of short films represents a hint of the tectonic shift in the underground film world in connection with the punk rock “movement.” Restored from original negatives, it showcases the reasonably well-known alongside the extremely rare, from music shorts to impressionistic documentary.

Moisture

When The Commercial Album was released in 1980, Phonogram and Celluloid Records financed the production of four "One Minute Movies" with which to promote the album in Europe. The Residents hired their long-time collaborator Graeme Whifler to direct for "Moisture" and "The Simple Song", and directed another two themselves, "The Act of Being Polite" and "Perfect Love".

Songs for Swinging Larvae

The film, based on a true story, concerns a kidnapped child, and "poses ancient questions regarding home and heart".

The Simple Song

Dr. Giggles

In 1957, Evan Rendell flees after his father is lynched for killing multiple patients in his effort to find a replacement heart for his ailing wife. After 35 years, Evan escapes from a mental institution and returns to town for revenge, killing off residents one by one. When Jennifer and her friends break into the Rendell house out of morbid curiosity, Evan notices Jennifer has a heart condition similar to his mother and decides to make her his final victim.

Sonny Boy

A small-town car thief and his transgender wife come across an abandoned infant; they amputate his tongue and train him for a life in crime.

Video Voodoo

"Video Voodoo" is a VHS tape released in 1987 by The Residents. It is a collection of videos made from 1975 to 1986. It also contains snippets from their earlier VHS, "Whatever Happened To Vileness Fats?/The Mole Show". The VHS is one of the two places to find the "Earth Vs. The Flying Saucers" video.

Hello Skinny

"Hello Skinny" is a 1980 short film/music video directed by Graeme Whifler and co-written by Whifler and The Residents, for the song of the same name from the group's 1978 album Duck Stab!/Buster & Glen. The video (which is derived from an unsuccessful attempt to create a feature film based around the songs from Duck Stab!) stars Bridgit Terris as "Skinny", and consists mostly of still images, with a small amount of color film footage of Terris.

Secrets of the Unknown: Lake Monsters

Lake Monsters examines in depth the myths and legends surrounding seafaring monsters. Learn the stories of "Nessie," the Loch Ness monster, first sighted during the sixth century. Film highlights include actual footage of "Chessie," the water creature spotted in the Chesapeake Bay since the 1930s.

Secrets of the Unknown: Big Foot

Big Foot brings together eyewitnesses who relate their encounters with the legendary and mysterious creature. The film probes the intriguing question of whether Big Foot, Sasquatch, and Yeti are myth or reality. Film highlights include possible authentic footage of the beasts.

Häxan

Grave robbing, torture, possessed nuns, and a satanic Sabbath: Benjamin Christensen's legendary film uses a series of dramatic vignettes to explore the scientific hypothesis that the witches of the Middle Ages suffered the same hysteria as turn-of-the-century psychiatric patients. But the film itself is far from serious-- instead it's a witches' brew of the scary, gross, and darkly humorous.
