The film's artistic premise seeks a plastic equivalent to express the literary content of Gilbet K. Chesterston's prose. It is a graphic film showing the metamorphosis of a tree, the main character of the film. It is predatory and dangerous to the nature around it. It catches and feeds on birds, which, suspecting nothing, live among it.

The villagers one day are surprised by a strange phenomenon - a high embankment begins to form all over the area. Like in a mole pit, the shifting earth destroys everything around it. After the "cataclysm", new blocks of flats - all made of concrete slab - rise in place of the destroyed farms. Only the residents, transferred to new conditions, do not change their habits.

Thanks to the use of the trick technique, the film shows in cross-section apartments-similar boxes, the interiors of which are inhabited by different tenants. Colorful patches, animated by painterly animation, arise, transform, and transform before the viewer's eyes into paintings by Polish artists, to the rhythm of the music.
