The deceivers

Two young men, Ahmed and Mohamed, who live in Port Said, develop feelings for the same girl, Najaf. However, when the Tripartite Aggression reaches Port Said, they abandon life trivialities and join the militants as Najaf joins the Red Crescent; the three unite for a single patriotic cause.

The son of a wealthy man wants to be a musician but his father, the factory owner, objects and kicks him out. When his father announces a competition for the name of a new soap, his son wins the prize and has enough money to finance the theater of his dreams and he becomes famous for his shows.

A good man who loves his family and devotes himself to taking care of them. A woman intercepts him and takes him into her love. This changes his circumstances and he is distracted by her from his family. He neglects his work and his life is upended. He ends up killing this woman who killed him and betrayed him. Then he immigrates to Sinai, where he lives for a few years. When He returns to his family and finds that the children have grown up and married.

The story revolves around the singer (Dalal) who works in a cabaret. Many men fall in love with her, but she prefers the wealthy (Mustafa). She marries him and moves to live with him on his estate. (Mustafa's) mother, who wanted her son to marry his cousin, is shocked. When she is injured in an accident, a doctor comes to treat her and meets Dalal, as he was one of her former clients. The doctor proposes to (Mustafa's) cousin, and (Dalal) refuses this marriage, which will reveal her past. She decides to kill the doctor to preserve her past from her husband's family.

A group of foreign adventurers pretend to be archaeologists so they could look for gold in the Western Desert. They are hosted by a tribe whose leader, Sheikh Fadel, welcomes them, until he discovers the truth and stands up to them.

(Ameen) The merchant who sees many nightmares in his dream about a young man who accepts him to kill him, which causes him to feel fear for what he owns, and goes to seek advice from a psychiatrist, and one day Ameen is surprised by the young man who always appears in all his nightmares as he applies to a job with him, and discovers Amine that this young man loves (Samia) Amin's daughter, which causes him to address this relationship, refusing to associate with her.

Hassan is a young man who recently graduated from the Faculty of Commerce. He works with his uncle Amin Bey in a securities office. Hassan loves his cousin Samira and the uncle promises to marry them. However, Qamar, an ugly girl, loves Hassan and decides to marry him. Amin asks Hassan to marry Qamar. Amin deceives people with the intention of spending on his dancing lover.

Hussein, a shy young man, is desperately in love with Samiha. However, Samiha is more interested in her singing and dancing cousin Lucy. Admiring Hussein greatly, Samiha's father attempts to help him and starts spreading the rumor that Hussein is having an affair with famous actress Hind Rostom, hoping jealousy will move the daughter's heart. The plan seems to work... until Hind Rostom herself comes to town.

A man and a woman get married, but soon the husband suffers a lot of boredom and anger because of the constant lying in everything, which drives him to travel to work in Paris

Naïve young Muhasab is asked to accompany his more dependable friend, Mujahed, on a voyage up the Nile to Cairo. Dr. Sami's conditions change, and he even becomes preoccupied with Munira. The rich young man married a wife based on his aunt's desire in the hope that she would see him an heir, but fate paralyzes the wife, and here his aunt pressures him to marry another who is also paralyzed, and he tries again to repeat the experience, so he marries the third and fourth

While they were on their way to the mental hospital, a criminal escapes because of the negligence of the police officer. Afraid of being punished, the police officer decides to make his uncle enter the hospital instead of the criminal.

Set against the backdrop of the 1967 Six-Day War, the movie adaptation of Naguib Mahfouz's novel follows the escapist, drug-fueled riverboat meetings of a group of frustrated Egyptians from various walks of life.
