Every person born in the mountains, by the sea, or by a river develops a strong bond with that environment. Filmmaker Braňo Molnár developed a strong relationship with the Danube River. He used to go fishing there with his grandfather. Even as a little boy, he learned to weave fishing nets, wicker baskets, and harvest wreaths. However, the river full of fish and the surrounding Danube countryside, once unspoiled in his memories, have now changed. Nevertheless, he decided to search for the lost magic with his camera. Ten years later, he created a documentary that allows you to take a look at this corner of the planet.

Bratislava is a medium-sized European city. From an economic point of view, however, it belongs to the fastest developing regions of our continent. There is a constant hustle and bustle here. The city is becoming denser and developers are dividing up the last green areas. Buildings, often insensitively located, push out our inconspicuous neighbors from Bratislava. We start to miss them - so we look for replacements. We subconsciously feel that we are part of nature. But at the same time we also need a city. We live here, work here, go to school, shop in countless supermarkets. We enjoy walking through the old streets and along the Danube embankment. We live, or perhaps rather survive, in a city environment. On the fortified banks of the Danube, in the middle of concrete and asphalt. But fortunately, we are not alone here, as evidenced by the attentiveness of filmmaker Branislav Molnár.

Nigel Marven is a British wildlife filmmaker, screenwriter, presenter and adventurer, known worldwide for his unique style, innovative programs and enthusiasm. He worked alongside Sir David Attenborough for 12 years. He has made more than 150 documentaries, visited all continents and conveyed the stories of amazing wild animals to viewers. This time he visited Slovakia to introduce the natural beauty of Slovakia to the whole world in cooperation with our nature filmmakers.
