Um certo cinema gaúcho de Porto Alegre

Bom Fim, in Porto Alegre, was a stronghold of the youth movement that took place between the 1970s and 1980s. The trajectory of the place is revisited through interviews with musicians and artists who lived those golden years.

This short documentary captures the history and the current state of decay of the Cine Brasília: a movie theater founded in 1955 that became an important cultural fixture in the town of Carazinho, Brazil. In the 2010s, it turned into one of the last independent movie theaters in the brazilian south due to its steadfast owner, who refused to let his family business die out.

Artists are those who, throughout universal history, have suffered from the most diverse stereotypes. Men, vagabonds; women, prostitutes; the children, with no future. Un grateful people, easy life, oblivious to work. It is through art, however, that we strongly criticize society and allow debate on important issues. Today, in Brazil, the artistic and cultural class has been emptied by the municipal, state and federal governments in order to disqualify work and the importance of the sector for social development.
