L’Envie de tourner

To mark the 30th anniversary of L'Étrange Festival, Gaumont is opening up its archives to offer the best of its most secret, bizarre and crazy images, digitized for the first time. A unique program featuring black magic, surrealistic happenings, world records, the evolution of feminism, wild bets, vanished places, forgotten inventions and other delights.

This year, Michel Audiard would have turned 100. To celebrate the life and work of the French screenwriter and director, Gaumont opens their vault and reveals some unknown information on the legendary witty dialogues writer.

An atypical and little-known filmmaker, Yves Ciampi nevertheless left his mark on French cinema. Sébastien Le Pajolec and Pascal-Alex Vincent, university lecturers, along with Delphine Ciampi, musician and daughter of the filmmaker, paint a portrait of him interspersed with excerpts and previously unseen archive footage.

Director and Danielle Darrieux specialist Clara Laurent, author of the book Danielle Darrieux, une femme moderne (Danielle Darrieux, a modern woman), analyzes the fascinating career of this iconic French film actress.

A surprise selection of the wildest images from the Gaumont library. This year, Sylvain Perret is back with a second coming of exclusive unseen nuggets, dug out from GP Archives for a new insane journey: mad collectors, odd animal experiments, disco and many other surprises, all under the auspices of Alejandro Jodorowsky.
