Bob Hope's Jolly Christmas Show

Everyone knows the story of Red Riding Hood. But every story has two sides and now the wolf has finally told his. This original musical comedy special, with songs by Jule Styne and Bob Merrill, first aired on November 28, 1965 on ABC.

"Mama" Cass Elliott of 1960s vocal group The Mamas and the Papas stars in this television variety special, performing comic sketches with Buddy Hackett and other Hollywood stars and singing solo versions of hit songs such as "California Dreamin'." It features guest stars including Margaret Hamilton (who reprises her role as the Wicked Witch of the West), Billie Hayes (as Witchiepoo from H.R. Mr. T sets out to change Billy's mind, taking him around the city to FAO Schwartz, where he gets a magic lesson from David Copperfield, and then to Radio City Music Hall, where he listens to Christmas songs sung by Maureen McGovern, imagines himself as one of the toy soldiers in the Rockettes' Christmas Show, meets Willie Tyler and his dummy Lester, and finally is moved to realize the true meaning of Christmas, before being reunited with his parents.

Pinocchio is a musical version of the story that aired in the United States on NBC, with pop star Peter Noone playing the puppet.

A 1982 production of Scott Joplin's American Opera TREEMONISHA preformed at the Houston Grand Opera. The plot centers on 18-year-old Treemonisha, daughter of two ex-slaves who is taught to read, and then leads her community against the influence of conjurers who prey on ignorance and superstition.
