Be Gone

Directed by Japanese filmmaker Ryo Orikasa, this animated short was inspired by Henri Michaux’s book of poetry and drawings of the same name, about his experiences with mescaline. The film explores the limits of language and perception, creating connections between sound, meaning, shapes and movement.

The eleventh episode “Sirens” of the novel Ulysses by Irish author James Joyce, is readen by the voice of a machine. In this film, I used photographs I took before 2020 to imitate the sounds and voices described in the text. In the end, the dance of the manipulated body with animation comforted the anxious body that had locked itself in a room.

The fragments of information scatter amongst computer and Internet, and constitute the world of Red and Blue. When they meet, their faces look red, but are their moods also a little blue?

There are three "Motifs". The complete differences between them make themselves self-doubt. The melody begins, and the music motif could not resist the impulse to dance, but the others also catching up ... Am "I" also a "Motif"? This film uses a Fugue from Bach, tries to unify similar concepts that exist in different forms, including music, visual arts, and narrative.
