This walk in the daily life of several psychiatric institutions, allows us to meet extraordinary people who let us enter their privacy.

West Africa, early 1960s. A French officer is assigned to find a missing missionary. His investigation, amid mistrust, silence and prejudice, takes him far away from the glittering shoreline, where day and night become one.

Gabrielle, a 19 years old, finds herself stuck near Death Valley between two parents who no longer speak to each other. The three of them, feeling trapped, try to escape the tension, in a huge scenery that feels unchangeable. The situation seems impossible, until an unexpected event comes to unravel everything...

Claudie is passionate about her unusual job: scanning the cosmos for signs of extraterrestrial life, hoping to make contact. Completely absorbed in her mission, she gradually loses touch with those around her, and even reality itself could fade away.
