Yesterday, I Think

A merman who lives beneath a fairy-tale forest, dying of thirst, seeks out a lonely girl whose tears fill his bathtub with sea water. A dark love story of longing and sharp teeth, made from digitally layered live action, stills and found textures. An animate! commission for Channel 4 and the Arts Council of England.

A vivid imagination can offer a seductive distraction from life’s duties. Showers of twisted fantasies, associations and flashbacks turn in this instance into an insensitive, dreary obstruction.
