Shaking a Singapore Spear

The documentary Hölderlin's Echo approaches the life and work of the well-known poet in an unusual way: In the real film parts, artists are observed and interviewed who interpret the numerous settings of Hölderlin's poems by well-known composers. Animated sequences interpret biographical sections of Hölderlin's moving life in poetic associative form. In the combination of both art forms, a complete work is created that consciously moves away from more conventional forms of geographical chronology and thus also tries to do justice to associative poetry.

The black forest in the 19th century. A magic place with ghosts, good and bad, living in it. Peter Munk is a poor but goodhearted young man, desperately wishing to be rich. Tempted by the evil ghost of the woods, he trades his warm heart for a heart of stone. He becomes rich but turns into a merciless and cruel man. Is there still hope for him?!

An animated adaptation of the famous play by William Shakespeare. It transposes the setting to a Southeast-Asian environment. Created in close collaboration with the Shakespeare Institute in Stratford-upon-Avon and its director Prof. Michael Dobson.
